The Pre-Health Professions Club is a student organization comprised of students who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine or podiatry. The club provides an excellent opportunity for meeting other pre-health students, networking, volunteering, service work, and learning more about the pre-health professions. Any student is eligible to join.
Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED)
Saint Louis University's chapter of the National Premedical Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) is the only national honor society for students preparing for careers in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine.
The Society was founded in 1926 at the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa. AED now has more than 190 chapters at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
The Saint Louis University Chapter, Missouri Beta Chapter, is one of 32 chapters in Region II (the Midwestern States). In even numbered years, AED holds national conventions to conduct the Society's business. Each chapter is encouraged to send a student delegate. The conventions provide an opportunity to meet pre-health professions students from other colleges and universities and exchange ideas. Each year, AED awards scholarships in each of the five AED regions. Each chapter nominates one outstanding senior for the scholarship competition.

The Minority Association for Pre-Health Students (MAPS) is a pre-health chapter of The Student National Medical Association (SNMA). SNMA is the nation's oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color.
The purpose of this organization is to provide underrepresented pre-health students with the knowledge, skills, and experience that are both pre-requisite and concomitant to professional participation in the medical field.
MAPS at SLU welcomes all students who are underrepresented in professional health care fields and plan on earning a professional degree in healthcare.
