Faculty development and course assessment, which had been funded by a grant from the Hewlett Foundation that ended after the 2001-2002 academic year, have continued through a joint effort from the University's Paul C. Reinert Center for Teaching Excellence and Office of Institutional Study.

Faculty development activities include discussion groups, where faculty teaching courses in the program meet monthly to discuss pedagogy and other common issues across disciplines. Faculty will also help assess the effectiveness of the program within their own courses. Information regarding long-term effects will be gathered through a survey that will be administered during the spring 2003 semester to students who have previously taken courses in the program.
