Mathematics
and the Art of M.C. Escher
Class activities include lectures,
group work, class discussions, and computer-aided instruction. Students
study the fundamental geometric concepts in M.C. Escher's art. The purpose
is to develop the students' sense of geometric intuition while they discover
geometric principles. Students have the opportunity to apply their learning
by creating their own geometrically inspired works of art.
Professor
and students using computer-based geometric software to illustrate the
mathematical concepts behind the art of M.C. Escher.
