Q: Who should attend?
A:
The Certificate Program is targeted to help any public sector staff, mayors, city council members, and chambers to better understand the complex world of development.

 

 

 

Q: What is the purpose of the program?
A:
The purpose of the program is to expand participants' knowledge of and skills in critical areas of economic development, particularly development in a down economy and changing workplace.

 

Q: Is there financial assistance?
A:
Not at this time.

 

Q: Is there a payment plan?
A:
No. Payment for the entire course is due at the time of application.

 

 

 

Q: How can I check to see if my certification was complete?
A:
Within two weeks after successfully completing the Program (including participation in at least 6 of 8 classes), a notice of completion will be sent to your attention.

 

Q: What happens if I get interrupted while working through the program? Do I have to start over?
A:
The program consists of 8 classes. You are required to complete 6 of the 8 classes within one year to complete the certification process. Tuition is non-refundable regardless of whether you do not complete the program.

 

Q: Why can't I enroll in the spring?
A:
Enrollment is in the fall only. The Certificate Program is a designed to be a cumulative knowledge based course.

 

Q: Can I just take the classes I need or am interested in?
A:
There is not enrollment for single classes. The Certificate Program Course is a designed to be a cumulative knowledge based course.

 

Q: If my municipality or agency pays for the course, can I attend some classes and have a colleague attend other classes?
A:
No. Program enrollment is non-transferable. No substitution or split attendance is allowed.

 

Q: How will I know about schedule changes and updates?
A:
.The Program Coordinator of the Certificate Program will use email as the main source of contact.
