Public Safety Communications Section

Answering Calls and Dispatching

The Public Safety Communications Section plays a major role in keeping the Saint Louis University campus safe. The communications unit is staffed with a manager and seven dispatchers who are  ready to answer your call -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

The number to call the Department of Public Safety to ask for assistance or to report a crime is 977-3000.  The Communications Center is located in The Wool Center, Room 129.

The safety communications unit provides:

  • Full-time response thru the University's enhanced 911 system
  • Dispatching of public safety officers for all emergency and non-emergency calls on campus.
  • Full-time monitoring of fire, intrusion and panic alarms
  • Direct telephone access to parking facilities and the MetroLink station near campus (via emergency call boxes)

Fully prepared for any emergency, the department of public safety keeps an alternate power supply to make sure communications will continue in an emergency.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
