- Q: I am planning to retire and move to North Carolina. I am currently enrolled in the GHP medical plan. Because an HMO requires that I use physicians located in St. Louis, may I change plans when I am no longer in the area served?
- A: You may change plans as long as you do so within 30 days of the date of your move outside the St. Louis area. You also may change at any annual open enrollment date, which is usually held toward the end of May for changes effective July 1.
- Q: I am wondering how much time off the University allows for taking care of my newborn baby.
- A: The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides eligible employees with up to 12 work-weeks of job-protected leave per 12-month period for the birth of an employee's son or daughter, or the placement of a son or daughter with the employee for adoption or foster care. For more information concerning eligibility requirements, contact your campus human resources office.
