Albert Agresti, SJ, has been named associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He will work with the directors of the college's 10 multidisciplinary programs and will assist Dr. Shirley Dowdy, dean of the college, with various faculty and budgetary responsibilities. The appointment is effective immediately. "Fr. Agresti brings a wealth of experience to this position," Dowdy said. "We are excited to have him on board and know that he will be a valuable addition to the college." Prior to his appointment as associate dean, Agresti served as the doctoral program director at Loyola University Chicago. He had been a faculty member at Loyola since 1988. Agresti received his doctorate in counseling psychology from Ohio State University. He also has a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and master's degrees from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif., the University of San Francisco and Boston College. Agresti is a member of the Academy of Counseling Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology; the American Counseling Association; the American Psychological Association; the American Psychological Society; the International Neuropsychological Society; the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
