The access expansion was funded by the University's Library Automation Fund but is being made available for general use to better serve the University community. This new service can be reached by dialing 615-1010. The additional access will offer users better performance. Please note that current usernames and passwords are valid. In most cases, there need be no changes in PC configuration, and Windows 95 users should require no changes at all. If problems do arise, users are encouraged to dial 977-7441. WORLD TOUR: Members of the University community are invited to view an exhibit, "Around the World in 95 Years: The Voyages of Cyril Clemens," now on display at the Saint Louis University archives on the third floor of the Pius XII Memorial Library. The exhibit presents the mementos of Clemens, an author and raconteur who saved items from his many trips abroad for business and pleasure. His collection includes an enormous postcard cache encompassing thousands of images dating from the late 1800s to the present and representing a collecting career extending from boyhood to today. Clemens celebrated his 95th birthday in July. The exhibit, which runs through August, is free and open to the public. The archives are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. PULEO LECTURESHIP: Mev Puleo (A&S '85) was a theological educator, photojournalist and social change activist who used photographs and interviews to draw attention to the struggles and aspirations of poor people attempting to defend their dignity and transform their world. Her commitment to this cause took her to Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico and Haiti. In addition, Puleo published two books and contributed photos to several others. In 1995 she received the U.S. Catholic Award for furthering the cause of women in the Catholic Church. In January 1996 she died due to a malignant brain tumor; she was 32 years old. In her memory, Puleo's parents, Peter and Evelyn Puleo, have established "The Mev Puleo Lectureship in Third World Theology and Culture" to be given annually to an outstanding third world theologian or social activist. The lectureship will involve a weeklong series of events, including a lecture open to the St. Louis community; faculty seminars and round-table discussions; student seminars; and presentations/lectures to classes in theology, philosophy, social service and public health. TUNISIAN VISIT: Dr. Jean-Robert Leguey-Feilleux, professor of political science, traveled to Tunisia this summer as part of the Joseph J. Malone Program in Arab and Islamic Studies. He was one of nine outstanding educators and leaders selected for this nationally competitive program by the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, a nonprofit American educational organization based in Washington, D.C. SPRENGEL SCHOLARSHIP: Plans are under way to develop a permanent scholarship fund in memory of Dr. Donald P. Sprengel, the associate graduate dean for research who died Aug. 31 of last year. "One of Don's greatest frustrations in the position was our inability to provide adequate scholarship funds as a match for stipends in grants and contracts," said Dr. Donald G. Brennan, dean of the Graduate School. "It is for this purpose that the Donald P. Sprengel Memorial Scholarship Fund was established." Many donations were received at the time of Sprengel's death, but additional funds are needed. To contribute, make a check payable to "Saint Louis University," write "Donald P. Sprengel Memorial Scholarship Fund" on the memo line and send it to the development office, DuBourg Hall, Room 302 PAPERS SOUGHT: The Center for Social Justice at the School of Social Service is seeking paper proposals for a conference on raising children out of poverty.
