- Q: I would like to increase my retirement plan contribution, but it has been less than a year since I last made a change. I remember being told that there is a limit on the number of changes allowed in a year, but I am not sure when the year begins or ends. When can I change?
- A: New legislation has eliminated the limitation on the number of changes that can be made. Previously there was a legal limit of one change per calendar year.
- Q:Who extends offers of employment for staff positions? Why?
- A: All employment offers for staff positions are extended by the human resources employment office. Before extending a job offer, the employment office ensures that appropriate employment reference checks have been conducted, reviews the selection process to ensure that appropriate selection criteria were used and reviews the proposed salary offer to ensure that it is consistent with the University's compensation policies. Once the offer of employment is extended to the successful candidate, the employment office articulates important benefit information, schedules the new employee for orientations and issues a confirmation letter.
