And the winners are...
Faculty members found out April 24 at the annual Grantwinners Reception, which honors members of the University community for their excellence in obtaining external support for their research. "Such efforts make a world of difference in helping us to fulfill our potential as a University," said Dr. Donald Brennan, dean of the Graduate School and University research administrator.
The following faculty members and departments were recognized:
- Drs. John Encarnaci-n and David Kirschner (earth and atmospheric sciences) were honored for their "persistent efforts to obtain external support" for their scholarly activities.
- Dr. David Munz (psychology) and Dr. Gerard Magill (Center for Health Care Ethics) were honored for their "continuing efforts to secure externally supported opportunities for graduate students through funded assistantships."
- Dr. Robert Bolla (biology) and Virginia Campbell (Small Business Development Center) were honored for a "continuing commitment to excellence in research and success in obtaining external support for the conduct of their investigations."
- The department of communication disorders and the department of science and mathematics were recognized for "a continuing commitment to excellence in research" and for the success of their faculty in seeking external support that "has advanced research excellence in this academic community and has earned acclaim for the school and the University."
