'Lunch with a Porpoise' Barbecue Set for June 9
|
If you are looking for a good meal that serves a good purpose, look no further than the fourth annual "Lunch with a Porpoise." The annual barbecue to benefit the Helping Our Own program on the Frost campus will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, on the patio in front of Busch Memorial Center. In case of rain, the lunch will be on Wednesday, June 10.
This year's menu again features grilled vegetarian burgers, hamburgers and brats, as well as an assortment of chips, desserts and sodas. More than a dozen "celebrity chefs" from the Frost campus will lend a hand at the open grill during the event.
Raffle chances can be purchased at the lunch or from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 5 and 8 in Busch Center. A $1 donation per ticket is requested, or six tickets for $5. Prizes include Billiken basketball tickets, a sweatshirt from Barnes and Noble Bookstore, gift certificates and numerous other items donated by several of the University's schools and departments.
Last year's lunch raised $1,500 for the program.
