Conference USA has named Saint Louis University as its recipient of the Institutional Excellence Award for the second consecutive year. The award is given to the school with the highest cumulative grade point average during the current academic year for all student-athletes in conference-sponsored sports. Saint Louis University posted a 3.06 overall GPA for all student-athletes. "Our student-athletes, their coaches and our academic support staff should be extremely proud of this accomplishment," said Director of Athletics Doug Woolard. "Our goal is for our student-athletes to have the best possible experience both academically and athletically at this University. This award only reinforces our belief that we are consistently attaining that goal." The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest grade point average for the current academic year. The Billikens won the award in baseball (2.95), women's basketball (3.07), men's cross country (3.35), women's cross country (3.40), men's golf (3.36) and men's soccer (3.00).
