Slain Sisters Remembered on the Fifth Anniversary of Their Deaths

In Remembrance

Last month marked the fifth anniversary of the slaying of five American nuns in Liberia. Throughout October, the sisters were remembered and honored with five wooden crosses placed in memorial in front of DeMattias Hall on the Frost campus. The murdered sisters were members of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC) order, which previously owned Demattias Hall. Those slain were Sr. Shirley Kolmer, Sr. Mary Joel Kolmer, Sr. Kathleen McGuire, Sr. Agnes Mueller and Sr. Barbara Ann Muttra. Shirley Kolmer, McGuire and Mueller were graduates of Saint Louis University.
