Women's Commission Celebrates 25th Anniversary

On Thursday, March 26, the Women's Commission of Saint Louis University will observe its silver anniversary with a reception and dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. in the ballroom of the lower level of St. Francis Xavier College Church. The cost is $10 per person, and guests are welcome.

The organizers plan to honor the pioneers who established the commission in 1973, the past presidents, recipients of the Woman of the Year Award, board members, and women who have worked at the University for the past 25 years or more.

The event features music by Eddie Fritz, music director of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Clayton, Mo., and his jazz group, and a dinner catered by Russo's Catering. There will be a cash bar during the reception from 5 to 6 p.m. A program after dinner will highlight the history of the Women's Commission as well as the changing role of women at Saint Louis University since the commission was founded in 1973. A look into the future, with a recognition of the contributions of the past, will conclude the evening.
