Saint Louis University
New Humanities Building Opens

Members of the humanities faculty will share the same home beginning this fall.

Renovation of the new Humanities Center, housed in the old Salvation Army Building at 3800 Lindell Blvd., is scheduled for completion in early August. The project included some new walls, new carpet, painting and new furniture.

Departmental moves to the new building will take place between Aug. 5 and 14. Departments should be operational by Aug. 17.

The building contains approximately 45,000 square feet and will house the departments of English, American studies, history, theological studies and philosophy.

Scholar's House, which had housed faculty offices for English, history and American studies, is being converted back into a residence hall. Theological studies is moving from its home in Verhaegen Hall, and philosophy had been housed in Shannon Hall.
