|
Dr. Margie K. Edel has been named director of the baccalaureate program at the School of Nursing. "Dr. Edel was selected after a national search," said Dr. Joan Hrubetz, dean of the School of Nursing. "Her teaching and administrative experiences, as well as her knowledge of Saint Louis University, make her the ideal person for the position."
Edel began teaching at the School of Nursing in 1976 and since 1992 has been an associate professor and chairwoman of the department of gerontological and psychiatric-mental health nursing. Edel earned her nursing degree from the University of Illinois in 1965, her master's in medical surgical nursing from Washington University in 1969 and her doctorate from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1986. Her research has focused on gerontological nursing and she was principal investigator of a federal grant exploring gerontological issues.
