
Dental Center Gets New Director

Donald J. Ferguson, D.M.D., has been named executive director of Saint Louis University's Center for Advanced Dental Education. The announcement was made by Peter G. Sotiriopoulos, D.D.S., who recently retired. Sotiropoulos had directed the center since 1991.
"Dr. Ferguson will make an outstanding director of the center, and under his direction the center will remain one of the top programs in the world," Sotiorpoulos said. "Dr. Ferguson comes to Saint Louis University with very impressive credentials and is well-respected in the dental field."
Ferguson previously was head of the division of orthodontics and chairman of the department of developmental sciences and community health at Marquette University's School of Dentistry. Before these appointments he served as an associate professor of orthodontics at Indiana University's School of Dentistry.
Ferguson has been a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American and international associations for dental research, the Midwest Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.
He received his doctorate from the University of Oregon and his certificate of orthodontics and master's degree from the University of Pacific.
