The University's Faculty/Staff Club has been named Bannister House in honor of the late Joseph Bannister. Bannister, a member of the board of trustees and a University benefactor, died June 6. He was 59.
Bannister had served as a trustee since 1996. An executive vice president for construction and management with the Bakewell Corp., he was a generous benefactor of Saint Louis University and other charities, including Saint Louis University High School, the Little Sisters of the Poor, Ursuline Academy and the Daughters of St. Paul.
Bannister is survived by his wife, Rosalie, three children, four grandchildren, and six brothers and sisters, including Kathleen Brady, the University's vice president for facilities management and civic affairs.
