University Condolences

Dr. Morton Weber, chairman emeritus of the department of microbiology at the School of Medicine, died Sept. 4. A memorial service was held Sept. 13. Weber was chairman of microbiology for 23 years and a member of the School of Medicine faculty since September 1959.

Dr. Lee A. Opheim, a professor at Saint Louis University from 1959 to 1968, died Dec. 21, 1998. In 1968 he joined the faculty of the department of geography at South Dakota State University and was a professor of geography there at the time of his death.

Condolences are extended to:

  • Alex Moncada, patient assistant transporter at the University Medical Group, on the death of his mother, Mrs. Josefina J. Moncada, on Sept. 4.

  • Patricia Byrne, administrative assistant III in the office of the vice provost at the Health Sciences Center, on the death of her husband, Mr. Roger Byrne, on Sept. 23.

  • Mary Kolb, administrative assistant I in the School of Nursing, on the death of her mother, Ms. Lucille Muskopf, on Sept. 22.

  • Jittaun Allen, senior human resources assistant in the Health Sciecnes Center human resources office, on the death of her mother, Mrs. Deborah Allen, on Aug. 7.
