The Staff Advisory Committee is pleased to announce the latest staff member to be selected as a "SLU Star." This employee is being honored because a fellow member of the University community praised her for recent instances in which she performed "above and beyond" and demonstrated the Ignatian ideals of magis, a striving for excellence, and cura personalis, a personal concern and respect for others. Using the nominators' own words, the committee congratulates this month's SLU Star.
Beth Hitchell (athletics): "Beth has been a mainstay in the athletic department since my arrival going on six years ago. She always is upbeat, efficient and patient no matter what the stress level is. She takes on lots of work and responsibility yet she always keeps a pleasant attitude of helpfulness. She always responds to requests, usually on same day. She has been encouraging and gives a sense of groundedness to all who work with her. She takes her time with each individual yet gets work churned out for financial affairs of the department. To me she represents the ideals that Saint Louis University desires in personnel. She's good! I never knew how much she does until she was out on maternity leave!"
The selection committee welcomes nominations from any member of the University community. Eligible employees are those who perform staff and administrative functions. This includes supervisors, administrators and faculty who are administrators. Nomination forms are available from any campus human resources office.
