New Leader Tapped
for Top PR Position


Saint Louis University has named Robert Woodruff associate vice president for public relations.

Woodruff is responsible for public relations and marketing efforts for Saint Louis University, overseeing the Frost and Health Sciences Center news bureaus, Billiken Media Relations and University publications. Woodruff reports to Donald J. Whelan Jr., vice president for development and University relations.

"Bob is a great asset to the University," Whelan said. "He is a highly motivated individual, and we all will benefit from his expertise."

Woodruff brings to the University an extensive background in marketing and corporate communications. Before his appointment, he spent 14 years at Deutsche Financial Services Corp. in various roles. As vice president of corporate communications, he was responsible for developing and implementing all internal and external communication programs including public relations, marketing, company publications, World Wide Web communications and advertising.

"I'm very excited to have joined Saint Louis University," Woodruff said. "It's a fine institution with a rich heritage and an incredibly bright future. The public relations department will help promote the significant accomplishments of our faculty, students and staff through an integrated communications program that includes media relations, advertising, print collateral, Web development and marketing support. Woodruff earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Bryant College and his master of business administration degree from Washington University.
