International Business Program Named After Boeing Corporation

"The Boeing-McDonnell Foundation has been a very important partner in the continued growth of the School of Business and Administration in general and the Institute of International Business in particular," said Dr. Neil Seitz, dean of the School of Business and Administration. "Being able to use the Boeing name for our institute is certainly an honor for us."

Last month, Boeing executives presented University President Lawrence Biondi, SJ, with a check representing the company's most recent million-dollar gift. Mike Sears, president of Boeing Military Aircraft and Missile Systems, said the contribution is an investment in the training and development of students who will be entering into businesses with global markets.

"We are delighted through this gift to be able to continue the long partnership between Boeing and Saint Louis University," Sears said.

The contribution is part of a $5 million 10-year commitment to Saint Louis University by the Boeing-McDonnell Foundation. Part of the $1 million is being used for the construction of a suite of institute offices in John and Lucy Cook Hall, a new wing of the School of Business and Administration that is under construction and will open next fall.

The Boeing Institute of International Business offers a number of academic and professional programs, including an undergraduate international business major, a part-time executive master of international business, an international option in the full-time MBA program and a joint international business/marketing doctoral degree. Professional activities include guest speakers, an annual international business conference, research assistance and customized training programs.
