Biondi Chosen As a 'Citizen of the Century'
|
Readers of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch named University President Lawrence Biondi, SJ, one of St. Louis' "Citizens of the Century" in its Jan. 2 edition. Biondi was called "one of the greatest builders in the history of the oldest school of higher learning west of the Mississippi." He was named the most influential citizen in St. Louis during the 1990s. Post-Dispatch readers picked a citizen of the decade for each decade of the millennium, including such figures as Charles A. Lindbergh for the '20s, Stan Musial for the '40s and August A. Busch for the '60s.
