Grand Connections Wins Award

The Saint Louis University office of publications recently won awards in a competition sponsored by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

The print version of Grand Connections won a bronze award for overall publications excellence. Joe Muehlenkamp is the editor. UNIVERSITAS editor Laura Geiser won a bronze medal for writing for a story on marriage that appeared in the University's alumni magazine. Graphic designer Matt Krob won a bronze medal for designing the cover of this year's Billiken men's soccer media guide.

University president Lawrence Biondi, SJ, took top honors, a gold medal, for his President's Message column in UNIVERSITAS.

The awards were presented at the CASE District VI conference meeting this month in St. Louis.

Seventy-nine universities and colleges entered this year's awards competition, and there were a total of 788 entries.

The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education is an international association of education advancement officers, including alumni administrators, fund raisers, public relations managers, publications editors and government relations officers.
