A ll "977" numbers serving the Frost campus community, ITS offices in the Caroline Building and departments at the School of Allied Health Professions have been incorporated into the City of St. Louis Emergency System. In the event of an emergency, you may dial "9" plus "911." Your telephone number, building address and room number will appear on the St. Louis Emergency System screen. Assistance will be dispatched immediately, and the University's department of public safety (DPS) also will be notified.
If you reach "9" plus "911" through a dialing error, do not hang up; stay on the line and advise the dispatcher of the error. Dispatchers are required to treat hang-ups as potential emergencies.
This "911" service is restricted to extreme emergency calls only. Extreme emergencies are defined as medical emergencies or critical incidents requiring police assistance.
Normal calls for assistance should continue to be directed to the DPS at 977-3000.
