The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) has published the 1999 endowment rankings for American colleges and universities. Saint Louis University ranks in the top three endowments among Catholic schools, behind only Notre Dame and Boston College
Overall, Saint Louis University is ranked 38th, down from 35th in 1998.
NACUBO lists the University's 1999 endowment at $907.8 million. The actual audited amount was $913.1 million. The difference of $5.3 million are pledges receivable that NACUBO, for some reason, does not include, though generally accepted accounting principles require that they be recorded as University assets.
Boston College is shown as 37th in the 1999 study at $908.0 million, $200,000 larger than Saint Louis University. Boston College ranked 41st in the 1998 study.
