The department of public safety recommends the following safety tips:
Park your vehicle on a University parking lot or garage so you can reach DPS immediately for assistance by using an emergency telephone. All garages are electronically monitored.
At night, use the escort service. Call 977-3000 for the free service.
Be aware of your surroundings and pay attention to suspicious-looking persons or activities near you by constantly scanning walkways and streets.
Immediately report any suspicious persons and vehicles by dialing 977-3000.
If you are accosted, do not take any action that will jeopardize your personal safety.
Call 977-3877 if you would like to schedule a safety presentation by the community policing officers.
