Clinical evaluation and radiation therapy for St. Louis cancer patients
Since its inception in 1968, the department of radiation oncology has been an integral part of the at Saint Louis University's cancer treatment. Our specialists work closely with SLUCare surgeons and other health care professionals to treat patients who have brain tumors, head and neck tumors, prostate cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer and liver cancer.
We are an academic medical practice. Our radiation oncologists are board certified and each physician has specialized training in managing cancer patients who need radiation treatment. Beyond that, our radiation oncologists further specialize by concentrating their individual practices on treating different types of tumors, including complex and rare cancers. SLUCare's specialized expertise ensures precision treatment and improved outcomes.
Among other treatments, Saint Louis University offers CyberKnife, a noninvasive, frameless radiosurgical device that uses image-guided robotics to target tumors and lesions with pinpoint accuracy while minimizing radiation dosage to normal tissue.
