ST. LOUIS -- Saint Louis University has been named one of 96 Educational Testing Services (ETS) Computerized Testing Centers around the country. The testing center is located in the Saint Louis University Academic Resources Center, 3840 Lindell Boulevard on SLU's midtown campus.
SLU joins Ballwin as the only St. Louis area sites to take computerized standardized exams, such as the graduate record exam (GRE), graduate management admission test (GMAT), test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) and college-level examination program (CLEP).
The center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in rooms 13 and 14. Testing may be scheduled by calling 314-977-2930.
SLU set up the center as a result of a need in this area, said Celerstine Johnson, assistant provost in charge of SLU's student educational services.
"Saint Louis University is committed to providing needed services for our students and with more standardized testing being done on computer, we saw this as a need for our students as well as others in the community," said Johnson.
Scott Sewell joined SLU in January as coordinator of the center and comes from a computerized education background. The center is set up with sophisticated computer stations to test four students at a time. Paper testing will still be available for all standardized tests, such as ACT, SAT, LSAT, MCAT, MPRE, MAT, and PRAXIS.
Saint Louis University is a leading Catholic, Jesuit research institution ranked among the top 50 national, doctoral universities as a best value by U.S. News & World Report. Founded in 1818, the University strives to foster the intellectual and spiritual growth of its 11,000 students through a broad array of undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs on campuses in St. Louis and Madrid, Spain.
