March 21, 2003 Build-A-Bear Workshop Executive to Speak at Dean's Breakfast
Maxine Clark, who made Build-A-Bear Workshops into a national and international retail success story, will be the featured speaker at the April John Cook School of Business Dean�s Breakfast. The event will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday, April 3 in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium in John and Lucy Cook Hall. Hosted by interim dean Leroy Grossman, the breakfast brings together Saint Louis University faculty, MBA students and local business leaders to discuss important business and economic issues. Maxine Clark began Build-A-Bear Workshops with one store in St. Louis, and it has now grown to over 100 stores around the country. Clark spent 25 years with May Department Stores before becoming president of Payless ShoeSource. In 1995, Clark was named one of the �30 Most Powerful People in Discount Store Retailing.� At the Dean�s Breakfast, Clark will speak on �Putting the Heart in Retailing.� For complimentary reservations call 977-3872. |
