Donate Toys for Less Fortunate Children

The Center for Leadership and Community Service (CLCS) invites the Saint Louis University community to get into the holiday spirit by participating in its Christmas at SLU event.

During Christmas at SLU, children from area social service agencies visit SLU for a Christmas party and gift giving celebration. CLCS is planning to offer gifts to 120 children this year. In 2002, 75 children were hosted and about 100 gifts were given.

CLCS is requesting the help of the University community to ensure that no child will go home empty-handed. Unwrapped gift donations will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 2, in Room 335 of Busch Student Center. Gifts should be appropriate for boys and girls ages 5 to 12. Please limit gift price to $15 to 20 in order to avoid gift comparison among children. CLCS also will accept monetary donations.

"We just wanted to invite these kids to the University so the SLU community can help give them a Christmas they might not otherwise have," said Abi Ottenberg, project chairwoman.

Christmas at SLU will be held Thursday, Dec. 4.
