College Church Holds Taize Prayer Session
Taizé prayer is offered at 7:30 p.m. every third Thursday of the month, at St. Francis Xavier College Church. The next session is Thursday, Sept. 21.
Taizé prayer is a simple form of Christian prayer centered on scripture, silence and song. Loosely modeled on the ancient traditions of monastic prayer, it originated at the ecumenical religious community in Taizé, France. The prayer of Taizé is meditative and easily accessible to people from around the world and from diverse Christian communities. It involves singing and listening to the Word of God in an atmosphere of silence and peace.
