Homecoming, Family Weekend Begins FridayMark your calendar – SLU’s office of alumni relations is preparing for Homecoming 2005!This year, Homecoming weekend will happen Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Continuing the Homecoming tradition, there will be a variety of exciting events for everyone. You won’t want to miss the golf cart parade, campus tours and live entertainment. There also will be special parties for some class years and colleges and schools. As always, there will be plenty of great food all weekend long.
Billiken sports fans can enjoy two women’s soccer games and one men’s game during Homecoming. During the men’s game, there will be a spectacular fireworks display lighting the sky over Robert R. Hermann Stadium. “Our goal is to make Homecoming 2005 the best one yet,” said Stephen Petersen, Ed.D., associate vice president for alumni relations. “We’re planning many exciting events that everyone can enjoy – from sports fans to kids, recent grads to not-so-recent grads. This is the weekend when everyone has fun showing their SLU spirit. ” As it did last year, Homecoming will coincide with Family Weekend, sponsored by the office of student life. In 2004, more than 3,000 visitors came to campus for both events. In addition, Samuel Cupples House is hosting a wine-tasting event Saturday, Oct. 1. Read more about it here.
