Banner 7.3 Upgrade Coming Soon

The Gateway II Program team is pleased to announce the upgrade to Banner coming in mid October. Learn a bit about what is new, what will change for you as a user, why we are upgrading, what training is necessary or will be available and what you need to do to see the new version.

When will the update take place?
Banner, and its related systems, (Self Service, Document Imagining, WebFocus Reporting) will be taken down at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 13th. The Gateway portal, E-Mail and Calendar will still be available. The upgrade will occur over the weekend. Banner will then be brought back on line by 2:00 A.M. on Monday.

What is new? What changes for me?
If you only use Banner Self Service, very little will change. Most of the changes will be for those who use Internet Native Banner (INB). While the screen names and processes you run have not changed, visually they have been redesigned for better presentation and easier navigation. For everyone else, the screen and form names stay the same, the processing stays the same. Early indications and comments show that people are happy with the new look.

What training is necessary?
Most users may not need any training whatsoever. Some may want some help navigating around the new look and feel. Basic navigation class can be scheduled through the ITS Training and Communications department.
