James DuBois, PhD, DSc, Program Director, Program Instructor
Dr. DuBois is Director of the P.I. Program. He is the Hubert Mäder Professor of Health Care Ethics and Director of the Bander Center for Medical Business Ethics and the Social Science Research Group at Saint Louis University. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine, where he directs the Center for Clinical Research Ethics within their NIH-funded Institute for Clinical and Translational Science. He is the founding Editor (with Ana Iltis) of Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics: A Journal of Qualitative Research, published by Johns Hopkins University Press. He completed his PhD in philosophy at the International Academy of Philosophy in Liechtenstein and his DSc in psychology at the University of Vienna. Click here to view online CV
John Chibnall, Ph.D, Program Instructor
Dr. Chibnall is in charge of survey development and data analysis for the P.I. Program. Dr. Chibnall is a graduate of Saint Louis University, Department of Psychology, where he completed his doctorate in applied-social psychology. He is a tenured professor in the Department of Neurology & Psychiatry, Division of Psychiatry, and Chair of the Biomedical Institutional Review Board at Saint Louis University. He is co-director of the Applied Clinical Skills course for first-year medical students and has been instrumental in curriculum development for the clinical clerkship in psychiatry for the past 10 years. Raymond Tait, Ph.D, Program Instructor
Raymond Tait, PhD, graduated from Amherst College in 1971 and obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle in 1981. He completed post-doctoral training in pain and behavioral medicine at the University of Virginia in 1982. He joined the faculty of Saint Louis University in 1982. In addition to his appointment as Professor in the Department of Neurology & Psychiatry, he has an adjunct appointment in the Center for Health Care Ethics. In 1998 he began serving as the director of research in the Department of Psychiatry. He now serves as administrative chair for both the biomedical and the behavioral and social science IRBs. Jillon Vander Wal, Ph.D, Program Instructor
Dr. Vander Wal is a Licensed Psychologist, Associate Professor of Psychology, and Director of the Eating and Weight Studies Lab at Saint Louis University where she teaches in the clinical psychology doctoral training program. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Vander Wal's clinical areas of expertise include the evidence-based treatment of various forms of psychopathology, particularly disorders of eating, depression, and anxiety as well as the promotion of health behavior change.
