Saint Louis University

Academic advising at SLU supports students through their academic careers. All advising units actively support students through a variety of methods and have a shared goal to enhance students' academic careers at SLU and beyond.

Academic advising at SLU is made up of six advising units representing the schools/colleges at SLU and four advising units representing special programs. Students are assigned to Academic Advisors and Faculty Mentors to assist with the decision-making process through their academic career.

The goals of academic advising are to:

  • Connect students to their academic communities by assigning Faculty Mentors and Academic advisors to each student
  • Facilitate an understanding of relevant academic policies and procedures
  • Support each student in assessing and pursuing his/her educational and career goals
