Saint Louis University

Application Process

Step 1. Fill out Application on SLU Groups.

Application will go live on SLU Groups on January 20, 2016 at 12:00 AM until March 6, 2016 at 11:59 PM. You may find the application on here.

The application is for both tutor and Supplemental Instruction leader positions. You only need to fill out the application once.

Step 2. Identify instructor to submit faculty recommendation. Ensure instructor submits recommendation by March 15, 2016.

Your faculty recommendation must come from an instructor who taught a course you have taken at Saint Louis University. We highly recommend that your faculty recommendation is for a course that you are interested in tutoring.

Reach out to your instructor of choice and inquire if they will submit a faculty recommendation on your behalf. Share with them the link to the faculty recommendation form. Follow up with them to ensure that they have completed the faculty recommendation form. Many instructors appreciate a thank you note for their time to submit a recommendation form for you.

Step 3. Participate in the interview process.

The applications will be reviewed between March 6, 2016 and Spring Break. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an individual interview.

The interview process will occur on Saturday, March 19, 2016. If you are selected, you will be contacted and asked to sign up for an interview slot. Each interview will last approximately 25 minutes. Interviews will be conducted with current tutors, SI leaders, and/or Student Success Center staff. Please dress appropriately for the interview; business-casual is preferred but jeans are acceptable.

If you have any questions regarding the application process or interview process, please contact the Coordinator of Academic Support, Matt Sullivan.
