Hundreds of youth, volunteers, athletes and families came out to America SCORES' Fall Frenzy event on Sept. 30, the first community event to be hosted at the new Medical Center Stadium.

The event was held to celebrate National Youth Soccer Month and to teach youth and their families how to maintain healthy lifestyles through nutrition and wellness activities.

Youth athletes got the opportunity to take shots against Saint Louis University women's club soccer team members, practice yoga, learn basic Tai Chi and Zumba moves, get nutrition tips from the SLU Nutrition and Dietetics department and have their faces painted.

"I felt that it was a great event for both our students and the community," said Eric Anderson, director of Campus Recreation. "The children that participated in America SCORES were so grateful."

"They were really happy and having a great time and that's what it's all about."

America SCORES seeks to bring soccer, poetry and service learning to urban youth. Earlier in the semester, America SCORES supporters set the first Guinness World Record for soccer dribbling at SLU. To learn more about the organization, visit their website.
