Hospitality Industry Advisory Board Members - Vito La Fata
As an alumnus of the SPS Organizational Studies and Hospitality Management programs, Vito La Fata serves as a model for students, alumni, and entrepreneurs who are passionate about pursuing an exciting career in the restaurant industry. In September, 2013, Vito received the Saint Louis University School for Professional Studies alumni merit award, which recognizes distinguished graduates who exemplify the University's mission in their daily lives.
As general manager and owner of Vito's Sicilian Pizzeria & Ristorante, Vito La Fata challenges his staff to be "agents of hospitality," approaching every interaction as an opportunity to win over customers, so that they may become ambassadors of Vito's. The La Fata's consistent dedication to quality and hospitality is the successful formula that has resulted in continued growth since Vito's opened in 1996.
Vito's Ristorante has received numerous awards, including Best Pizza in Saint Louis from both the Saint Louis Post Dispatch and Sauce Magazine. With growth came the need for more space--Vito La Fata raised capital in 2001 and built what is now the existing restaurant, located in the Saint Louis University and Grand Center neighborhood.
Over a decade later, Vito's continues to offer quality food in a comfortable atmosphere, coupled with exceptional hospitality. Vito's is heavily involved in various community support projects, including many charitable events, the Grand Center Restaurant District, and the local restaurant collaborative the Saint Louis Originals.
