Brief Bio 
Ann Rule is an Associate Professor in the College of Education. She received her Masters and Doctoral degrees at Kent State University in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Mathematics. She began her teaching career as a middle and high school mathematics teacher. Currently she teaches mathematics methods courses for future elementary, middle and high school teachers as well as graduate courses in Curriculum and Instruction. She also works with teachers, students, and teacher candidates at Hodgen Elementary School, which serves as the PDS for the early childhood, elementary, and middle school mathematics programs. Her research centers on how children learn mathematics, why they have difficulty learning mathematics, and school reform.
