Brief Bio

Linda Bufkin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies where she has been a full-time faculty member since 1990. She received her master's degree from the University of Evansville and her doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a specialization in Special Education as well as Child and Family Development.

Prior to joining the faculty at Saint Louis University, she taught children with disabilities in both public and private settings. She also served as director of a therapeutic preschool providing programs for children from birth through age five. At the University she teaches courses in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education and Inclusion. She also works with the department's Professional Development School, Wyman Elementary (a St. Louis Public School). Her publications relate to assessment of young children, constructivist teaching methods at the university level and pragmatic development in children with disabilities.
