Brief Bio
Dr. Murdick is a professor of Special Education and has focused her research and scholarly work in the area of students with developmental disabilities and their families. She has served on national professional committees and boards in professional and advocacy organizations in the field of Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Murdick has presented and published on issues related to behavior management, inclusion, and special education legal issues. Her research interests include legal issues in the provision of appropriate services for students with special needs, parent advocacy, and educational implications of rare syndromes that impact educational success. Dr. Murdick has received the Region V American Association on Mental Retardation Education Award and the AAMR Service Award and has been promoted to the status of Fellow in the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
