Chaifetz ArenaSaint Louis University Theatre

Saint Louis University Xavier Theatre is located in Xavier Hall at 3733 West Pine Mall. Tickets are $10; $9 for seniors and SLU employees; and $7 for all students and can be purchased starting one hour before the performance or at the box office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Performances take place at 8 p.m., except for Sunday performances which are held at 2 p.m. Only payments of cash or check will be accepted.

The University expects to host 90 to 100 events each year in Chaifetz Arena, including concerts, shows, trade shows, commencements as well as men’s and women’s basketball. Chaifetz Arena is located on the SLU campus at 1 S. Compton Ave.

 

Off Campus

Fox Theatre

Fox Theatre

Faculty, students and staff can receive discounts on select Broadway productions as part of the Fabulous Fox Theatre's Student Rush discount. Visit the box office up to two hours before show time with a valid SLU ID to purchase tickets for $20-$25. The Fox's 2013-2013 Broadway series includes performances of Les Misérables, The Blue Man Group and The Book of Mormon.

 

Grandel TheatreGrandel Theatre

Home to the award-winning The Black Rep and St. Louis Shakespeare, the Grandel Theatre opened in 1884 as the First Congregational Church.  

The Black Rep currently offers student discounts on regular season shows, with ticket prices between $28-$47. The Rep also offers a Student Rush discount, with which students can purchase tickets a half-hour before showtime with a valid ID for $10. 

 

 

Jazz at the BistroJazz at the Bistro

Jazz at the Bistro doesn't offer discounts for faculty and staff; however, student tickets may be purchased in advance for the first set at 7:30 p.m. for most shows on Wednesday and Thursday, and for the second set at 9:30 p.m. for most Jazz at the Bistro performances. On Friday and Saturday, student tickets are available for the first set at 7:30 p.m. for most shows, but will only be sold at the door 15 minutes before the show begins.

As with all events, tickets are subject to availability. A valid student ID will be required when purchasing or picking tickets up at the door, and one student ticket can be purchased per ID.

 

Kranzberg Arts CenterKranzberg Arts Center

The Kranzberg Arts Center hosts a studio performance space; gallery and education center for the Craft Alliance; and the Black Box Theatre, which is home to three different theatre companies: HotCity Theatre, Muddy Waters Theatre Company and Upstream Theater.

Muddy Waters Theatre Company offers SLU faculty, students and staff a $5 discount for performances, which can be redeemed with a valid SLU ID.

 

The MunyThe Muny

The Muny, short for The Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis, is an outdoor musical amphitheatre, located in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri. The theater seats 11,000 people with approximately 1,500 free seats in the last nine rows that are available on a first come, first served basis. The Muny seasons run every year from mid-June to mid-August. It is run by a not-for-profit organization.

The Muny produces all of its musicals (typically seven) in the season and operates only in the summer. Since its beginning, The Muny has featured hundreds of big names in theatre, television and film on its stage, drawing inevitably huge crowds. Powell Symphony HallPowell Symphony Hall

Powell Symphony Hall doesn't offer discounts for faculty and staff, however students can enjoy select concerts at Powell Hall for only $10 in advance or $20 at the door. Students may order up to four tickets per concert. In order to provide the best available seating, the box office will select seat locations the day of the concert.

The next student night will be Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6, when the St. Louis Symphony will present Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 3.

Sheldon Concert HallSheldon Concert Hall

The Sheldon Arts Foundation is committed to the preservation and operation of the historic Sheldon Concert Hall and is dedicated to enriching the greater St. Louis region and beyond with a wide range of music, visual arts and educational programs. Tickets are on sale now for the Sheldon's 100th season.

SLU faculty, students and staff can purchase tickets to any jazz or classical concert hosted at the Sheldon for only $15 with a SLU ID. Students can also receive discounted tickets for performances that are part of the Sheldon Sessions. Tickets for these events generally run between $10-$15.
