Juris Doctor Program
During their first year, students are required to take a set of core courses that provide a comprehensive understanding of the law. After the foundational course requirements have been satisfied, students are able to select from more than 200 elective courses and seminars. For part-time students, core courses are completed during the first three to four semesters.
Small Sections - Personalized attention is important, and all first-year students enroll in at least one foundational course with a maximum class size of 25. Legal Research and Writing is also a required course that is taught in small sections. There are many benefits to the small-section experience including:
- Personalized interactions with professors and individual feedback on assignments throughout the semester
- Increased opportunity to clarify and explore difficult concepts
- Increased interaction with peers
