The Jackson Lewis Scholarship will be awarded to a law student who has a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law. The scholarship award is $5,000 and is funded by the Jackson Lewis law firm.
Application Requirements: Students interested in applying for the scholarship must be current Saint Louis University School of Law students who will be graduating in May 2015 and who will be enrolled as students at the law school in the fall of 2014. Preference will be given to a student who is pursuing the Concentration in Employment Law.
Applications are due, IN TRIPLICATE, no later than MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2014 by 4:30 P.M., and should be turned in to Laura Bresnahan, Room 939. Applications may be submitted at any time prior to the due date.

Selection and Notification:
The scholarship Selection Committee, composed of the Co-Directors and one faculty member of the Wefel Center for Employment Law, will determine who is eligible to receive the scholarship. The Committee’s selection will be final.
When the Selection Committee has determined the scholarship recipient, a Committee member will contact and inform the recipient that he or she is eligible to receive the scholarship. The Committee will also inform a representative of the Jackson Lewis law firm of the student selected for the scholarship. The Scholarship will be announced publicly at the Academic Awards Ceremony on April 11, 2014 and the recipient will be expected to attend.
The student will also sign an agreement by which he or she agrees to repay the scholarship amount if the student fails to complete the J.D. Degree at Saint Louis University.
Scholarship payments are usually allotted in one lump sum during late June or early July. Scholarship recipients will be notified as to the timing of the distribution.
