The department offers a major and minor in criminal justice. The major requires 30 credit hours of required courses and 6 hours of elective courses. In addition to offering undergraduate courses, the department maintains an active internship program that provides interested students with research and work experience in local, regional, and state organizations.
The Criminal Justice program at SLU provides a well-rounded and sound academic orientation to corrections, law enforcement, and to the judiciary, as well as providing practical guidelines and invaluable experience in the criminal justice system. A criminal justice major prepares students to work within the criminal justice system or go on for post-graduate education in law, business, and academia.
