Students who are Federal Work Study eligible, and also have a desire to serve their community, can now participate in SLU's brand new Community Service Federal Work Study Program. If eligible, students can work up to 15 hours per week at a non-profit agency, and get paid $10.00 per hour to do it! Potential jobs include tutoring children, coaching, environmental work, arts and culture activities, and more.
To enroll in the program, just follow these 4 easy steps:
1.) If you have received an FWS award, send verification of your FWS Award from Banner (screen shot or printed and scanned) to Bobby Wassel at firstname.lastname@example.org, to begin the process.
2.) View our list of Available Community Service FWS Jobs, which directly links to job previews. Then, apply through Career Services' Handshake database.
3.) Visit Human Resources (located on the 1st Floor of the Wool Building across the street from Tegeler Hall) to complete the necessary tax and direct deposit forms. You will receive a Receipt for New Hire. NOTE: If you have been paid by another SLU job within the last year, you do not need to re-complete your forms.
4.) Return the Receipt for New Hire to Bobby Wassel in the Center for Global Citizenship, Suite 130.
