Benefits Mission
The Benefits Department
is committed to offering and maintaining a competitive benefits package
for University faculty and staff and attracting and retaining highly
qualified individuals. This commitment takes place in an environment
highly regulated by federal and state laws and regulations. Consistent
with existing regulations, benefits will be administered in a fair
and consistent manner as outlined in the various plan documents.
Benefits Department
programs and responsibilities include:
- Conducting benefits
orientations and retirement
orientations;
- Answering questions and processing
enrollment/change applications regarding long term disability,
life, health, dental and accidental death insurances; retirement,
flex spending, dependent care and tuition remission;
- Administering Consolidated Omnibus
Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act (HIPAA);
- Coordinating open enrollment for
medical, dental, flex spending and dependent care.
