Employees
Employees can be hired in a 1) Full-time/part-time
Regular status or in a 2) Full-time/part-time
Temporary status. Completed tax and I-9
forms are necessary to be in compliance with Federal Laws.
These forms can be obtained from the human resources department.

Regular Hire - the following
forms are required to be completed when an applicant is
hired into a Regular full-time or part-time Staff position:
- Tax Forms - the new hire must complete federal
and state tax forms and return to human resources
no later than the first day of employment.
- Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9)
- the new hire must complete the I-9 form within 72
hours from their start date. Two forms of acceptable
identification must accompany the I-9. (Attached is
a list of acceptable documents to establish employment
eligibility.)
- Benefits (full-time only) - New hires have
31 days in which to enroll in a medical benefits plan,
and to submit other benefit forms. Benefit orientations
are held weekly. Benefit packets are distributed during
this orientation and a Benefit Specialist is present
to assist faculty in completing forms and to answer
benefit questions. To obtain information regarding
new faculty benefit orientation dates, faculty members
should contact the Benefits office on or before their
first day, at (314) 977-2304.
Temporary Hire - A temporary
position is defined as one that is less than six months
in duration. Temporary positions are not eligible for
benefits. The following forms are required to be completed
when an applicant is hired into a full-time or part-time
temporary Staff position.
