Job Codes are alphabetic characters, which describe an employee’s terms of employment. The terms of employment designated by the job codes are:

  1. Union, Staff, Faculty, or Student
  2. Full-time or Part-time
  3. Positive (Hourly) or Exception (Salaried)
  4. Temporary, Contractual, or Employment at Will

An employee’s job code and length of service are used to determine eligibility for, and accruals of, vacation, sick and holiday pay. Job codes are also used in the administration of the University’s employee benefit plans.

Please refer to Job Codes (Category Listing), Policy No. 3.3.3, for job codes separated by Union, Staff, Faculty and Student categories.
